When I was doing phone polling months ago, I had one irascible old gentleman tell me that he likes Ron Paul but wouldn't support him because he thought Ron Paul "is a loser". Nonetheless, he was obviously pleased to hear a younger voice doing grassroots for a Republican and getting involved. Seems like it had been a while since he'd heard that.
He has since voted for Huckabee. What a loser!

I'll tell you something that I think is inspirational. I hadn't been over on townhall.com for months and received an email from a friend that told me that the tone (comments) had completely turned around since McCain looked like he was going to get the nomination. People are really mad. They hate McCain and are extremely ticked off at the Republican party for its big government ways. I find it very hopeful indeed.
Yes, I think people are starting to wake up.Also, go read Chuck Norris' column, here: (Good 'ol Townhall printed it, but left off the best part). Below, is the article in its entirety. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=64016 It makes me wonder why he supported Huckabee. Last edited by LibertyEagle; 05-15-2008 at 08:23 AM. |

From one of our newer meetup members:
"Today all my Ron Paul campaigning hit home. Last night after the results of the North Carolina primaries, I?m sure like many others, I felt down hearted to see Ron Paul not do as well as I had hoped. Then I walked outside of my front door and saw a Ron Paul sign in my neighbors front yard where there hadn?t been one yesterday. And that?s when it hit home. A revolution starts with one individual and ends with a nation. I had credited the entire revolution to Dr. Paul and had ignored the bigger message he had sent out to our country. It is not the responsibility of one but the responsibility of many to make a change. It?s not Dr. Paul that will save us but ourselves. It?s his message that should be looked up to. A revolution isn?t a man but a concept and our founding fathers understood that message very well. That is why my fiancée and myself have decided that my fiancée will run for local office. We have 5 children and very little time for anything extra and we are determined to make a difference in our world. Not just for ourselves but for our children, and our children?s children. I urge you if we can do it you can do it. Become involved in your local politics. ?A journey begins with one step?. Our constitution says ?For the People by the People?. It?s about time we became the people again. And have hope like our founding fathers that we can become more than we perceive ourselves to be. The only person who can?t make a difference is the one who has given up on hope and if you dig deep enough hope is still there. This is a plea to the American people to dig deep and find that hope again. Let us be a nation of one voice!" |

My sister supports McCain. I have tried to convince her that our personal liberties, freedom, and economic health are at stake and that we need RP. Her response: "We the people are the majority in this country and we don't want liberty and freedom, we want to be safe and free of terrorism." Ugh

With Big Pharma spending upward of $1 billion to bring a single drug to pharmacy shelves, it’s little wonder that unprofitable afflictions like malaria and African sleeping sickness go largely ignored. Curtis Chong witnessed this neglect firsthand in 2001 as a third-year medical student working in an emergency room in Mozambique. Day and night, malaria patients lined up for treatment, but Chong’s medication stockpile was often too low or too antiquated to treat drug-resistant strains of the disease, and people were dying.
Six years later, the 31-year-old pharmacologist is spearheading an innovative way to bring better drugs, and more of them, to the developing world. The Johns Hopkins Clinical Compound Screening Initiative is an open-source effort to collect and index more than 10,000 known medications and determine which of them are also effective against hundreds of low-profile, Third World killers, such as Chagas disease, cholera and leprosy. The library will function something like a Wikipedia of drug discovery, where scientists around the world can contribute to the database and even provide samples or screen drugs themselves, thereby saving millions of dollars on R&D...(Full Article: http://www.popsci.com/scitech/articl...ug-resurrector) |
